Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I printed the reference photo onto a 5x7 format to use as a reference and photoshopped the reference photo and cropped each item so I could display a very large image of each on my computer. I cheated a little (ok, a lot) on the drawing. From photoshop I displayed the outlines and printed that at the scale I needed then used carbon paper to trace onto canvas. I tried to paint the same way as the class demonstrated. Please forgive me but I was desperate. The class was great!

Great effort! Colours/contrast is a bit strong but still a great painting

Thanks, I replaced photo with a more accurate one. I would sure like for you to create a class for a landscape.

Sorry, for Mr. Curanja to create a class for a landscape.

I actually think your "cheating" is a great way to start learning the techniques of painting. It's very difficult getting bogged down with drawing and sketching when you're just itching to paint. I also think your honesty is commendable. The painting turning out fantastic. I would be ecstatic if I painted that well.

as long as you can paint in this way you don't need to cheat, you need to apply more on drawing and you dont'have to forget that painting is drawing with colors instead of pencil

I've heard it said that you get the picture on the canvas anyway you can. It's all okay. You did a great job painting the picture. You're braver that me. I haven't started yet. Am still watching the video and processing. If I were you I'd be very proud with the results.

This is technique......Not Cheating! In what way would you paint and say you were not cheating?
