Instructions

Anyone interested in doing this project, please contact me and I will be happy to provide instructions.

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional

Materials

Melamine carcass pantry units, oak veneer, oak crown moulding, Richelieu hardware, 3 custom oak doors for bottom pantry unit, 2 oak brackets, 6 wooden feet, existing china cabinet, furniture stripper, verathane wood stain, satin polyurethane, and 6 bottle wine cooler for island,

What was your inspiration?

Needed more food storage and useable counter space in my small kitchen. Hated to get rid of my dated china cabinet and so I sat down and drew out ideas on how to make the unit more functional.

What are you most proud of?

How beautiful the units turned out and how much added food storage and useable work space it added to the kitchen. There is always someone sitting at the island helping with food prep, reading the paper, or enjoying conversation with the cook. Now all we need is pendant lighting over top!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

You will need a table saw, mitre saw, nail gun, and well ventilated garage/shop to complete this project.

This is completely out of the box! Great job. I absolutely love the color and the imagination you have. will keep this in mind if I ever need it. BTW, what color is the stain you used? I could use this on my existing kitchen cabinets

Thank You! I loved the colour so much I'm currently refinishing my honey oak kitchen cabinets with this colour. I used a Varathane Wood Stain - Mission Oak colour. Good Luck!

A project like this takes vision and guts. You did well with both!

I love this! What a great way to re-purpose your cabinet! Going to try this myself.
