What was your inspiration?
I made this for my sister's 55th birthday. She's my younger sister, but she's been instrumental in inspiring me and guiding me in my feeble attempts to quilt. She loves ducks and geese and peace signs and her favorite color is Purple so I wanted to incorporate these into a special hanging for her. There are 55 flying geese in the hanging - 50 make up the peace sign and 5 are flying off the upper side of the hanging.
What are you most proud of?
That I was able to make this WITHOUT my sister's assistance. Anytime I run into a snag or need advice, she's the one I go to for help. Since this was for her birthday, I couldn't do that. But I enjoyed making this and she really loved it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Think it through; take it slow; have fun!
