If you dont know how to draw one, just find a fleur de lis clip art online (the simpler the better) then enlarge each section on the copy machine (you will need to cut it apart to do this, then put it back together). What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was that my cousin is a major Saints Fan, as well as her whole family. She was decorating her nursery in the color scheme of zebra stripes and hot pink, so I slowly developed the idea.
What are you most proud of?
I'm proud of the look on her face as she spread the blanket open wide and looks happy.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be patient making the Fleur de lis, it is the hardest part in my opinion. I also lined the blanket with white soft material, I just sewed it like a pillowcase and turned it right side out and whip stitched the hole closed, then I quilted around the fleur de lis to give it detail and then shadow quilted a little further out just to help anchor the blanket to the other material a little better. Just do not rush the project and it should go smoothly.
