I am using my own handspun and dyed yarn. I want to capture the beauty of the autumn fireweed that grows up in Alaska.
What was your inspiration?
The beauty of the fireweed plant that grows prolifically on the mountainsides up in Alaska. In the autumn it takes your breath away.
I painted the roving with dyes then spun up the yarn and Navaho plied it to keep the colors separate with long color changes.
These panels are the back of the sweater.
What are you most proud of?
I spent alot of time with graph paper and a sharpie to get the images for the 2 color knitting pattern. But that is fun too!
