Knit Picks Chroma Worsted

What was your inspiration?

Seeing so many wonderful fair isle knits using Chroma wools from Knit Picks. Shame they don't post internationally. I had to get my son to post on to me.

What are you most proud of?

Overcoming the problem of accidently knitting 2 mittens of the same hand.

I changed the ribbing and extended it and also added a row of hearts between ribbing and main motif.

I decreased 4 stitches twice (dec 1 st at each end of upper and palm side, leaving side stitch rows intact), 2 rows apart, prior to binding off, to prevent the opening from gaping.

From the photos you can see they are not perfect but were very happily received from the recipient.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

After completing one mitten, you will need to photocopy the chart and cut the thumb section and past on the other side of the palm pattern. CONCENTRATE when beginning the thumb row of the second mitten.

I forgot to recommend if unfamiliar with fairisle, to remember to continually stretch out stitches knitted on right hand needle so as to keep tension as even as possible.
