Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quick-Strip Paper Piecing »

Instructions

Initially I had difficulty following the directions so from time to time, I messed up. Fortunately my scrap bag is huge so had ample fabric to correct mistakes. I loved learning how to paper piece. Having the directional arrows on each piece was key to success....

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Charity

Style: Funky, Mod, Hipster

Materials

Scrap materiel to learn how to paper-piece.

What was your inspiration?

Initially, wanted to add to a Halloween panel so selected colors to compliment that. But, after two blocks I wanted something vibrant and larger. This will be donated to Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio, an amusement park for those with special needs.....

What are you most proud of?

Color choices and the attention to detail.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I have no real conceptual skills so paper piecing is a challenge to me....yet, following the instructions and reviewing them is key. Having the arrows to follow on each piece is also key.

Can hardly wait to start the next class. Wonderful instructor with lots of little gems thrown in, even for the experienced quilter and sewer. Excellent.

Perfect name for this quilt. The colors are wonderful......joyous, happy, FIESTA. Am anxious to start this one. I printed out the pattern sheet, but have yet to get my act together. Your work is inspiring me to get to it soon.

Wow! I can tell you aren't afraid of color - what a lively, fun version of the Pinwheel Polka!
