What advice would you give someone starting this project? The pattern recommends a 24" circular, which is fine, but a hair shorter needle might make knitting in the round go faster and a bit easier. (Or use a longer needle and "magic loop" it.) I used a front-loader washer, hot wash and cold rinse for full cycles. I also enclosed the bag in a zippered pillow protector, and added three T-shirts to the load to balance the spin cycle. The bag tends to "torque", so between washings I got it back to square, and also turned the bag inside-out on alternate washings. In these photos the knitting rows seem to be obvious, but that's not what it looks like in real life. I think the camera flash made the vertical rows look pronounced.
