What was your inspiration?

I am turning some of my BOM blocks into a square lap quilt (3x3). On a design wall I tried out some different combinations of layout and thought I had decided, until I realised that the photo I took was not of the final layout I wanted! So please use your imagination and picture the Wonky Log Cabin in the centre and the Chain in the upper right corner ;)

As I am still relatively new to quilting, I feel like I have trouble 'getting my eye in' when it comes to fabric selection. I would love any feedback the Crafsty community has if the green sashing works with these blocks. If not, any advice as to the sorts of colours I could try instead would be great.

I am going to try the quilt-as-you-go method, so ultimately I am looking at covering strips not true sashing, but the effect should still be the same (right?).

What are you most proud of?

How much I have learnt over the series. It has been great to sample new techniques, then decide which ones to revisit later and which ones to steer clear of. (Curved piecing, I'm looking at you!)

I think your green looks really good with the blocks you've shown us. Do you have your other blocks ready for your layout?

I really like the green! It enhances all your colors. And I have to say I like the layout with the chain in the center. The Chevron and Wonky Log Cabin blocks have more of the print and help anchor the corners. The three blocks "flow" nice and evenly from lower right to upper left. Agrees with my eyes. Regardless, do what pleases you most. Its your quilt!

The green that you have chosen is a great color in my opinion. It picks the green out of the blocks. Unless you wanted to pick up a bright outdoor color and brighten the quilt.
