Batik and hand dyed cottons
What was your inspiration?
I am using all batiks and hand dyed fabrics for this quilt. Thinking about the name Spring Blossoms, I thought of seeds in the ground (dark green), coming up as bright green stems (bright green), into the first stage of blossoms (light pink), finally into the full bloom (dark pink), all reaching for the sky (blue) and of course the sun (yellow). I'm just not sure if I achieved what I set out to accomplish! They did not turn out exactly 8.5" square - I was unable to strip piece because I only had a small 10" square of the light pink and I had to cut carefully to get enough pieces for three blocks, and I don't always sew that straight! LOL
