3 blocks for Feb

3 blocks for Feb

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2013 with Laura Nownes »

Instructions

Use scant 1/4 inch seams. My blocks came out undersized at first and I had to rip them out.
Use your phone's camera to try out different layouts before sewing.
Measure carefully. I cut one 3-1/2 strip to 3". By the time I discovered it, I was so sick of ripping things out, I tried patching it. I might replace it later.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Classic

Materials

Cottons - mostly batiks

What was your inspiration?

The colors were inspired by peacocks. The black is inspired by Amish quilts.

What are you most proud of?

That I got my blocks to come out to 8-1/2.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Measure carefully and take the time to press and measure after each step.
