Instructions

I purchased this kit at the Edmonton Quilt show a few years back - Quilt as your heart desires and make her your own. When I originally completed her - I thought she was done but couldn't hang it - I knew it needed something more - so I created my own Angelina Butterflies - with an embroidery machine and angelina fibres - I wanted to have a group of Butterflies in flight on the right border. Materials

Purchased as a kit - Fabric and Fairy Tapestry. I added the remainder - painted border, glitter paints, kreinik ribbon, couching, shaworski crystals in the wings, iron on beads on the headpiece, and I embroidered all the butterflies. Also used several types of metallic threads. This one is all mine to hang over our piano in the loft.

What was your inspiration?

I love nature, fairies, angels and all things beautiful. I wanted to creat something magical and special to hang over my piano in our loft. It took me a few years to complete but she's finally done and she's all mine. I have made so many things for others over the years - I wanted something for myself.

What are you most proud of?

She's absolutely beautiful and I am very proud of how she turned out. I did so many different things to her as she came to life. I especially like the magical figure in the background shining on her. I also love the embroidered butterflies and the painted border. When I originaly posted her - I knew she was missing something - I wanted to have a group of Butterflies in flight along the right border - so I created additional butterflies with angelina fibres and embroidery and then painted on the glitter flight path. She is now completed and she is ready for hanging.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Time......it took me a few years to complete due to other projects and I didn't have the inspiration - Each part of her was done when something came to my mind and finally she is complete. All I have left is the the signature piece on the back and then hang her on the spiral brass rod I have finally found.
