In Craftsy's first-ever Block of the Month, Amy Gibson brings you 10 specific quilting techniques - appliqué, string quilting, paper piecing and more.
What materials did you use?
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't worry if your block is too small. Cut it even smaller and give it a contrasting border. Makes it look like its a design element.
Good advice, and I think it's my favorite block.
Love your colour choices Terry! Wish I was that brave. Looks stunning. Julieannabell.
Thank you. I'm crossing my fingers people don't need sunglassestoviewit.
Very Va-Va Voom!! Love it!
Thank you so much. Fingers crossed it ends up OK.
I had trouble with getting my blocks 12 1/2 inches square also. I discovered that if there was a template for the pattern my computer was printing it out at only 98%. Personally, I love the borders on the blocks, bright colors, and batiks. I hope you're having as much fun as I am.
I've decided to standardize all my smaller blocks by making them smaller and adding borders.. I am having a ball with this., and I admit to changing virtually every block. The stripes on my first 2 are half the width, for example. It's a hoot, and everything ends up a different size, hence the borders.
