Instructions

Steampunk inspired fingerless mitts with beaded, scalloped French cuff. The cuff is knit flat, then joined in the round to knit the garter stitch hand. Decorative buttons add personal style and close the cuff.

Materials

Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% merino wool, 440 yards) 1 skein; Needles: US 6 dpns or 32" circular for Magic Loop, extra US 6 needle for 3-needle BO; US 10 (1.15 mm) crochet hook for placing beads; 96 size 6/0 seed beads; yarn needle, 2 stitch markers; (4) 5 mm ball buttons; matching sewing thread & needle; Gauge: 22 st x 44 rows in garter stitch.

What are you most proud of?

Garter stitch is so stretchy that it took intense testing to tweak the size - thank you to all my lovely testknitters!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's all about the button and bead choice!
