Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Artisan Bread Making »

Instructions

Remember that if you use regular yeast you need to triple the amount of yeast called for in the recipe. I didn't remember this and my bread turned out dense and heavy, with no artisan holes. OK very few artisan holes... very tiny ones.

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Food

For: Home

Materials

Regular (not instant) yeast

What are you most proud of?

The dough did rise to double....

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Instant Yeast only.

That isn't a fail. I've seen fail.

I have to agree with Luvs2Quilt. If you made bread, it's a success! Anything beyond that is a bonus. Keep it up.

If you can put flour/water/salt/yeast together and get bread it is never a failure.... I would slather it with olive oil and turn it into pizza! ;D It might even make really good french toast!

It looks delicious and I'll bet it tasted wonderful in spite of being a bit dense. Not a disaster at all - just one more to chalk up to experience.

It's a learning process:} bread like golf changes from day to day. Keep going. Looks like it is almost there, definately not a failure..
