What was your inspiration?
Blonde coyote legskin necklace. Each legskin has been sewn neatly and invisibly up the back of the leg and stuffed with lavender to give them soft form as well as a pleasant odor. The legskins are attached to a fingerwoven strap made of butter soft deerhide. Hanging from one of the paws is another fingerwoven strap made of deerhide with lots of fringe. Glazed ceramic beads and coyote knucklebones have been knotted into the fringe. The necklace can be worn around the neck as modeled, or the fringe can be knotted around the other paw to cross them. The bones and beads rattle nicely together when you move, adding rhythm to dance or normal movement.
In addition to being worn as a necklace, this piece can be draped over the horn of a saddle, the rearview mirror of a car, loosely knotted around the straps of a purse or pouch, or anywhere else that needs a little bit of coyote spirit.
