Drunkard's Path

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Classic, Traditional

Materials

Batiks, cotton tone on tone, Warm and Natural batting

What was your inspiration?

I've never used this pattern and I wanted to try my hand at sewing curved pieces. It was also the first time I'd used batiks. I used several FQ's of the same color combination with the idea of mixing them all around.

What are you most proud of?

I am so excited about how well it turned out. I made it for my high school best friend but I wouldn't mind keeping it for my own.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't let difficult patterns hold you back from trying them. It's so much fun to say I did it and it worked. This was a project that took me several years to get around to completing. It took time to do all those curved pieces but was well worth the effort.

I need a friend like you! I always give mine away for one purpose or another (a gift, church project, charity) This is gorgeous. I have made (not finished yet) one with a particular jelly roll that I love and I may actually keep this one! Maybe hang on a wall over our bed???? Hmmmmm have to think about it. Thanks for sharing. You did a beautiful job

This is just lovely! Definitely worth the effort. There's just something about blue and white quilts that feels warm and beautiful and this pattern is perfect for your fabrics - or the other way around. I definitely understand that you'd not mind keeping it and I don't see that as a problem. Your high school friend would probably be just as thrilled with something involving less effort.
