What was your inspiration?

I saw a quilt made with a two sided blade and loved it.

What are you most proud of?

The 3-D effect when you look at the blades. Was not expecting that.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Lots of pressing!! And be accurate with the cutting.

This is awesome! Never would have thought of using two fabrics for the blades, what a great idea. You are on very talented quilter & the hexy in the middle just tops it off! Outstanding, thanks.

Thank you, I have been sewing most if my life but have only just started to quilt. I learned to sew from my Great-grand mother and my mother, but they never quilted. Quilting has very different rules than sewing a shirt. I love the precision that quilting requires it is similar to what I do in stained glass.

Thank you, the center was to white with out the pepper. It seemed to draw everything together.

Yes, you just have to pay attention to which end is the top of the blades. It made it very easy to fold in half to sew the top.

I made a stripe of white and dark just wide enough for the template and very carefully cut the templates with the center being the seam. Had to remember that I could only cut one direction.
