Raggedy Ann

Raggedy Ann
Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Cute

Materials

polyester fabric, light fluffy stuffing material that that can be washed. Polyester mix wool for the hair.

What was your inspiration?

Fun toy for a little girl

What are you most proud of?

The Raggedy Ann is tall enough to use cloth for a 1-year old. So when the girls outgrow their cloth, their doll can wear it easily.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The eyes and cheeks are colored with textile colors and then ironed-in.
The hair takes about 2 skins of thick mix-wool and is sewn into the head part either by hand or by machine. Body and limbs must be well stuffed and the limbs also should be sewn securely to the body part.

The dolls are adorable. I still have my first rag doll, a gift from my big sister and she's 42 years old! This makes me want to create a doll for someone.
