What was your inspiration?

Our daughter-in-law has purchased 18 inch dolls for our 4 granddaughters for Christmas. She asked me to make a dress for a doll and her daughter because that is what her daughter wants. Well, you can''t make them for one and not the others so I decided I'll do that plus a little wardrobe for each doll.
Then we will be done with their Christmas presents.

What are you most proud of?

I had a fat quarter bundle that was all coordinated and decided to use it for the skirt and top. It was perfect because the fabrics were already coordinated and I just had to pick out which two fabrics to put together for each set. They will receive the same outfits but in different fabrics so they will recognize their doll''s clothes.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Read the instructions and use the tips provided by Nancy Zieman and you will find these very easy to make.

Hope this gets me moving....I got the pattern set from Zieman, too but that's as far as I got.. I can't believe how much work you get done!. It is the perfect Christmas present, just adorable! And four granddaughters - are they redheads like their NanaJo? If any of them inherited that, wow.

My hair looks red in the photo but it isn't. It was colored in those days to be medium blond but in some light looked red. 2 of the girls have reddish hair though, as does their little brother. The other two have brown hair. All adorable, of course. You will love how easy these outfits are.
