Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Pets

Style: Traditional, Outdoorsy, Hipster, Whimsical, Eco-Friendly, Casual

Materials

I used material that I had around the house and and old sheet. I made a liner and filled it with cedar chips and a velcro closing and then I made a cover for it.... I have two finished and the dogs love them and they are refillable. Usefull and cedar chips keep bugs off of your dog. Helps fighting fleas.

What was your inspiration?

Needing a dog pillow that would not fall apart in two weeks. I also wanted it to prevent fleas for they lay there so much and cedar repells fleas. Coool

What are you most proud of?

The idea.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are gonna make this never buy the velcro that has a sticky side because that glue will gum up your needle and it will break. I learned the hard way .......THREE TIMES before I figured out what was happening. Yeah, I know.....>Quick Study.... :-)

It is a canvas cotton poly bend, The poly snags over time I have learned so I will go with straight cotton or with much less poly in the next one

LOL, yep I understand the quick study thing !!!! Great idea because they are costly and don't last when you buy them at the store. Did you use a canvas or duck cloth type fabric for the cover??
