don't buy the border yardage until the central motif is finished.

Very nice. What size are the strips you cut? I see how it is assembled and then cut. I compliment you on the selection of colors. To my opinion that's half of the outcome on a quilt. Great! Thanks for sharing

First you piece 9 5" squares in a 3x3 configuration. Then you take that block and cut it into quarters. Then you make a bunch more and arrange then. Easy!
