Small amount of brown 4ply wool. Even smaller amount of black 4ply wool, and minute length of black embroidery thread. Wadding.
What was your inspiration?
I really like donkeys. They always seem like very gentle animals. I had the idea to knit a small farm set, but did not get much further than Derek. I like him so much I sometimes use his photo instead of my own, if I am feeling a bit self conscious.
What are you most proud of?
I like his cheery look, although every donkey I have knitted seems to have its own unique personality. I am also quite happy with the muzzle, for which I tried a lot of different techniques, before I had one I was pleased with.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Leave all your knitting ends, as these are really useful when you are putting your donkey together.
