Instructions
I didn't use a pattern. I wanted to use up some scraps so I cut out the various parts of a cup and a cake. I appliqued these onto a background piece of fabric, around 10" x 7". Then I cut 2 small rectangles of pink cotton fabric and appliqued them above the pictures with the words 'cup' and 'cake'. Another piece of the background fabric was placed underneath and a piece of batting was sandwiched between the two. Make sure that the 2 fabric pieces are right sides out. I basted everything together then machined lines 2 cm apart across the whole thing. I cut a length of red cotton fabric around 34" x 2" and used this to bind around the edges (I machined it, right sides together, onto the front piece then folded it around and hand stitched the back).
I hope these instructions make sense. It really was simple - and fun - to make.
