I changed the proportions of the spool pattern... the center part of the block is 2x's the width of the outside part of the block... Mine are 8 inch blocks. I made the center square a string block and the outer pieces were fussy cut from the crown royal bags and the mustard contrast fabric. I finished with a piano key border...Difficulty:

A dear friend of mine LOVES crown... what a fitting gift for her.
What are you most proud of?
That I didn't have to drink all the bottles that came in those bags!... I got friends... and bars to save them for me. :-)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Try not to sew after emptying a bottle of crown??? :-) and as always... a quilt is a journey... have fun!
