What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you are making one as a gift for a friend who is expecting, she will feel this way! If you are making it for your own child, YOU will feel this way! And, if you are making it for the toddler or child in your life, well, just look at their face! That will say it all!

Hello= My first granddaughter due May 2014 is my blanket project for and I want to have it with a material side also. Did you hand sew or sewing machine the material on? Any tips for a beginner? Do you suggest adding a decorative crochet stitch over all the top when the material is sewn on or is that not needed? Thanks! Deanna in Oregon

When you line a crochet blanket with cloth.. Does the yarn stretch over time when you wash it and make the yarn side larger than the fabric side?

I have made dozens of these as custom orders and gifts and not had any problems. You can always wash the fabric first before attaching to the yarn side. The pattern includes instructions on how to keep the fabric in place when attaching to the crocheted side.
