I liked the look of the circular collars on shrugs, but wanted to try and make a vest style.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There are tips on my blog for the dc ch, or "foundationless" double crochet that I've used.

This is a wonderful pattern. I have made two - one in a rusty brown tweed and one in a willow green. I made reversible buttons so I can change the look on the fly.

I love this pattern most crochet things look a bit bulky but this pattern looks wonderful on hope you have more interesting patterns coming. Do you knit also?

I do love to knit, but simple shawls and such. It's much easier for me to design in crochet. There are a few patterns in my Craftsy Pattern Store, with more to come. The same designs are on Etsy and Ravelry. Thanks

It is a loose style and the arm holes are a bit large. You could crochet around the arm hole and decrease to create a sleeve if you wanted to.
