In Craftsy's first-ever Block of the Month, Amy Gibson brings you 10 specific quilting techniques - appliqué, string quilting, paper piecing and more.
What materials did you use?
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't remove the paper until the entire block is sewn together.
I agree. U must be a few hours ahead if the east coast of US. very nice work
Thanks, everybody. I am in Virginia. I was able to print out the templates late Friday night (I'm a night owl), so I got this block made pretty early on Saturday. And, yes, I have done paper piecing before. Hate it. I have managed to bugger up the second block (which I only discovered once all the pieces were together and I was pressing it one last time). I refuse to redo it, I'm so aggravated. I will do something else with flying geese instead - something I can piece easily once I calm down. Grrrrr.....
OK, calmed down enough to had-sew/replace the bad piece in the other block, so I will post it tomorrow. Still hate paper piecing.
Looks awsome. I haven't started paper piecing yet. I'm inspired.
If you measure the finished size of the paper pattern it is too big. Not sure what's going on with that. Once trimmed to 12 1/2 and sewn our points will be gone.
jUST WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE VIDEO
