What materials did you use? Scraps of fabric - in the Patchsmith's favourite country fabrics.

What are you most proud of? This mug rug is such an easy make. And to make it even quicker I used one single piece of fabric for the melon and small, flat buttons for the seeds. (It is important that any buttons used on a mug rug should be small and flat so they do not 'unsteady' a cup. If in doubt use fabric seeds as detailed in the pattern.)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used just two fabrics for the sidebar to create a checkerboard look but you can use any scraps you like. Make it 'hot' or 'cool' or do as I have done and add a touch of gingham for a modern country look.

Adorable. This perfect to use up some of my scraps.
