What was your inspiration?
While I was waiting for my ham to arrive by mail order, so I could move on with my couture dress, I started a number of other projects... ok 5 other projects, 3 of which are now complete so I should really get back to my dress.
Mum wanted some simple cotton shift dresses to wear when she goes to a hot place this xmas and I wanted to try out my fitting & pattern altering skills.
What are you most proud of?
Increasing the pattern size and getting a good fitting muslin I can use over again.
Doing my own bia binding ... I think it gives this simple dress a really nice finish.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Check the pattern is straight with the grainline of the pattern before cutting and sewing the fabric ... or buy better fabric
