Sewing machine serger denim thread

What was your inspiration?

My inspiration is saving money. Being 6'3 can be difficult to find great fitting jeans. I'm self taught in sewing and I'm now taking design classes. I knew that I could make a pair of jeans. This class is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud that I didn't give up. The first couple of drafts weren't great. I knew I could do it though. I can't wait to show my new jeans off to my friends.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Drink wine. I'm only kind of kidding. I advise on getting a good serger and get comfortable with using it first. Second use a test piece of fabric to see what kind of threads, top sticking, and design lines you'd like to use. And finally don't rush. Unlike cooking you aren't limited by time. Have fun!!!

Joe, was this easy for you? Im tired of paying $290 for jeans that I can make for a bit less.

I don't have a serger, just an industrial straight stitch machine and an embroidery machine. Do I NEED a serger??

These jeans came out great! Who needs sewing lessons when they can naturally pick it up, like you. All the details look great and you did a perfect job constructing them. Loved this class with all the helpful hints!
