What was your inspiration?
Needing to find the right sized messenger bag - most were either too big or too small for what I wanted. This seems to be the perfect size! I also didn't like how stretchy and saggy a lot of bags are - not made from the correct yarn. This is made from 100% cotton so it's very sturdy. It's also made suing a smaller than usual hook to give it a very tight stitch, again for sturdiness. It's also washable since it's 100% cotton!
What are you most proud of?
That this bag has a basic pattern that can be used for both female and male tastes. You can make it plain in many different colors for the man in your life, or dress it with flowers, buttons, etc. for more to a female's liking.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be patient. I am an experienced crocheter and this took me about 4 days to complete (lots of interruptions included). Make sure to use cotton yarn or you'll just get another "saggy" bag that you probably won't be happy with. The 8 page instructions have 15 pictures and illustrations to help you along the way!
