What was your inspiration?

I wanted to try some of the modern blocks seen at multiple web sites (ohfransson.com, modernquiltguild.com, sewmamasew.com to name just a few of them), a book "Quilting Modern" by Jacquie Gering and Katie Pedersen, and, of course, Craftsy classes. Plus I found the great turquoise fabric in my stash when looking for something else - forgotten I had it.

What are you most proud of?

It was fun designing a couple of these blocks and modifying other blocks I had seen. And I didn't waste the hexies I decided to not use on the front - they became a very small piece of back art (very small!). I quilted it using diagonal lines crisscrossing the blocks at random angles - wonky again!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Thanks, Debra - two of the blocks came from the Craftsy BOM, & one from the paper piecing class - the others I found on line at various websites & I adapted/created another couple. Oh, wait, I should use the current term "improvisational piecing" (sounds pretty pretentious to me)
