What was your inspiration?

The original "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" cartoon tv special was the theme of our work this year. I found some Rudolph wrapping paper at JoAnn's and matched all the paints we used to the colors there. We found the scenes in a coloring book, overhead projectored them onto the pink insulation board, and painted from there. (If anyone else wants to do this, please remember to remove the plastic coating!) The blue snowflakes were one of the Winter Lace set from Cricut, cut and adhesived to the blue- painted pink board cut to mirror the flake's edges. The Martha snowflakes were the show stealer, however. I believe we got more comments on them! I even had someone videotape me while I was making them to see how they were done! All in all we had a blast making these and the compliments were given many times each day.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that we all came together and worked as a team. Each of us took it upon ourselves to jump in and work on every project we had any experience in, and some we just faked. It was a "store" project, and we all contributed. Sketchers, painters, paper cutter, and hangers all worked together to pull this project off in record time for one of our many inspections. (By the way, we aced the walk.)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have a team ready to work many hours. No one should attempt this alone. Have fun while you do it, and share the compliments. You could not have done this alone. Thank your team. Go ahead and be proud of yourselves!!
