Cluster Wire Wrapped Earring

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Wire-Wrapped Stones, Crystals & Clusters »

Instructions

Followed the institution on how to wrap the wire, with the stones. However, I would not use glass and metal bead together, makes the earrings heavier then what I would like. They may eventually become necklace pendents. Loved the process, they were fun to make!!

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Funky, Classic, Casual, Cute, Traditional

Materials

20 Gauge Wire, 28 Gauge Wire, Assortment of glass beads (blue, teal, red), seed beads, and metal spacers.

What was your inspiration?

Southwest color mix. I love look of red and teal together.

What are you most proud of?

That they actually turned into earrings. I had problems early on, with the 20 gauge wire, not being strong enough (did not choose the correct wire), to make hoops. So I improvised with the chain and ear wire.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose your stones wisely. These earrings are heavier then what I would like. Will use smaller beads and less metal next time :)
