This quilt was difficult for me because it was for a friend whose tastes are almost opposite to mine. She chose the main fabrics and the style and I went from there. It took me forever to lay out the squares because making things appear to be random is very tricky but in the end I divided them up into sets of 9 squares and conquered it that way. For the quilting I first stitched in the ditch using my free motion foot so I could practice controlling my stitches, and then echoed around a quarter inch on either side of the ditch. I love the back and especially love the little pieced part of the binding where I had two leftover charm squares that I pieced in between the red strips to save having to cut another red strip for such a small extra bit. So I guess I put something of myself into the quilt after all. :)

What a fun quilt and it looks like you enjoyed choosing the many fabrics for the piece..... Perfect way to quilt the piece with the echo in each block!!! Thanks for sharing...

I love this quilt. You did a great job making it look 'random'. The distribution of the colors is wonderful.
