This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Perfect Fit Seamless Crazy Lace Cardigan »

Instructions

Follow Myra's guidance about adding your own lace pattern and selecting yarn.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Whimsical

Materials

Knitting needles, stitch markers, stitch dictionary, and tapestry needle

What was your inspiration?

I loved the sweater Myra wore during one of the course episodes. It had varying colors and she recommended trying several different yarns with long color changes. I chose Knit Picks Chroma in worsted weight.

What are you most proud of?

When I finished the cardigan, I added a button band. It was first time I had added a button band. When I realized the cardigan was too short. I ripped out the button band and added about three more inches to the length then added an even nicer button band.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I would use a yarn that has multiple plys. Chroma is a single ply yarn and it pills very quickly. I had worn it maybe three times when I notices the formation of pills on the sweater.

I like the plain sleeves and the way you returned to stockinette below the lace - the seed stitch edging fits well into the overall design as a result! Nice colors too.

Pretty colours and lovely style. The last lace rows of the body - is the pattern an eyelet row and several rows of double ribbing finished by another eyelet row?Nice and simple pattern!
