What was your inspiration?
I met a wonderful friend named Dorie at an embroidery stabilizer class and found out that she does a lot of quilting and so we decided to get together for a fun day of sewing. She showed me her quilts, which took at least an hour to see all of them, and I was so mesmerized by them that I decided right then there I was going to make one. She even donated some of her christmas fabric to me to get me started.
What are you most proud of?
This was my very first quilt ever. It was such a fun project to do. I made this for my mother in law for Christmas 2010 and I have received so many compliments on this. It only took me 3 weeks to do this.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I was so intimidated by the detail in this but once I took a closer look at this, I realized how easy this it. My advice is this: don't be afraid to just do it. Since I made this quilt, I have made 8 others, including doing my own designs. I have sold 3 quilts so far and I am currently working on Breast Cancer quilt for a client in New Jersey.
