Instructions

These were not my original fabrics. I had watched the video and two days before I went shopping and shopped from memory, then came home and cut from memory, only to realize that I didn't have enough fabrics!!! I was short one print. What are you most proud of?

I am proud of the entire project. And even though I hadn't planned it this way, I love it. I even love the pieced back even though I didn't have enough fabric for the back and had to piece it with three coordinating fabrics from my stash.

This is also my first time hand stitching the binding (I always machine stitch). Even though it as quite a process I think I will hand stitch all my bindings from now on.

It's a very sweet little table topper. Sometimes the accidental mid-project choices turn out better than the original plan, but the finished quilt is almost always a surprise. I save the hand stitching on my bindings for evenings when I watch television. That way I don't feel the tediousness and the time goes by more quickly.

I hope it gets faster the more youdo! This one took me about 2 1/2 hours to hand stitch and it's a small table topper. I'm nervous about doing my BOM quilt... it's going to take forver.

Have you thought about doing the whole binding by machine? If you like the look and process of hand sewing the binding (I do) that's great, but I know lots of people who use a machine for the whole process. There are some good youtube tutorials on doing it by machine.

Actually I used to do all my bindings by machine because I hated te idea of hand stitching. Now that I've done it by hand I think I prefer it that way if I have the time.
