What are you most proud of? The Chipmunk. This was the first animal that I tried to create out of fondant.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I supported the head and body of the chipmunk with a wooden skewer which then was pushed into the cake from the top. The nuts were made using Hershey kisses and Caramel chews which I warmed in my hand and shaped into the top of the acorn. Then I glued it on top of the candy kiss with Royal Icing. The Acorns tend to be quite heavy, so I started from the bottom of the cake resting the others on top. I used a glue made out of powdered gumpaste mixture and water. It was most effective in glueing the acorns to the top portion of the cake. I took the glue with me to their home along with the cake in case any fell off.

Thanks so much. sorry for the late reply but I've been having major problems with my computer. The cake was chocolate gingerbread. Very yummy! And the kids loved the candies and the chipmunk.
