What was your inspiration?
I was cleaning kids book shelves and felt bad about not having some books around to look at any more. I love the art work in some and wanted a way to enjoy them longer.
What are you most proud of?
The smoothness and usability of the table is incredible.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It takes time. Weeks. You have to decoupage and seal and then wait. Let it dry and sand. This has to be repeated until you get a smooth and perfect surface. I spent 3 weeks on mine. On the last coat my husband thought it was dry and placed plates on it. It caused ripples and he had to sand it level and seal it 2 more times. The end result was definitely worth it.
