I love the bling on this! Is that some sort of edible gem, or just strands of rhinestones or something? Did you put that on at the same time you layered your fondant chevrons on, or was that added by hand later? I plan to make a cake with vertical stripes and the idea of adding a row of stones of some sort is very appealing.

Hey! The bling is called "glam cake ribbon," you can find it on amazon or cake supply sites. It's plastic and pretty easy to cut on the diagonal. If you wanted an even bigger shine, there is a crystal banding you can by, with real crystals. That stuff gets pretty pricey though. ;)

I added the bling stripe last. When you watch the clean and simple design class, you see that each section of chevrons is added individually. So I just kept an open space where the ribbon would go and added it in at the end.
