Instructions

Cut celery down to bottom of stalk, dilute red tempera paint with a bit of water, put onto paper plate, dip celery in paint, press onto paper note card, leaving a rose shape! Add leaves and a little message. Perfect project for children and Valentine's Day!!!

this is an old idea that has been around for decades. i did it when i was a girl in Camp Fire, and i saw it a few years ago on a Lynette Jennings show. you can cut apples in half or quarter as well to stamp apple shapes which i have done on a kitchen wall.

I tried this -- it works great!! I stamped a whole bunch of colors, started with the lightest and worked toward the darkest colors. made for some beautiful roses.

Wow! I used to do this with my mom when I was little. We used to use a variety of vegetables (the ones I clearly remember are carved potatoes and lady's finger) and make our own cards and posters. Your project certainly does bring back fond memories. Thank you for sharing :)
