Materials

heavy curtain fabric, ribbon, fabric remnants, buttons,embroidery thread for the outside, Inside a cotton bag full of sand and fabric remenants to stuff to shape.

What was your inspiration?

Needed a doorstop and saw some cute dog ones in the shops. Thought it would be easy to make myself a cat one using some remnants of fabric I had.

What are you most proud of?

I love the yellow button eyes - very catlike! Also the ribbon and heart-shaped tag set it off. All made with remnants so very eco-friendly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I originally used rice to stuff the cat but then was worried about a pest infestation so I changed it to oven-dried playsand which gives good weight but is sterile.
