Instructions

Just keep yourself open so that you can see the beauty.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

I used fabrics that I didn't like to see what result I would get. I did a lot of machine stitching with metallic thread. I named this pillow carnival because it reminds me of the colors of Carnival in Trinidad.

What was your inspiration?

At first my inspiration was to challenge myself to do a project with materials I did not like. As it evolved the challenge and inspiration came to make it look appealing. I questioned when enough is enough. The instructor inspired getting over the need to control the outcome. That helped a lot.

What are you most proud of?

There were many times that I wanted to start over with fabric that I liked. I am glad that I worked all the way through it and am happy with the results.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't worry, be happy!

This is so cheerful and I LOVE the addition of the yarns and cords. Nice!

Thank you. It's actually ribbon that I twisted. Now I am going to do one that is monochromatic and see how that goes.
