Butterfly & Flower polymer clay pendant

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Romantic, Mod

Materials

Bezel, purple polymer clay, bee bead, bronze, gold and green paint, green Swarovski flatback crystal.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to try stamping on polymer jclay in a bezel setting. I used the bezel to cut out the right size circle. I used two different stamps BEFORE cutting out the circle. I tried stamping AFTER I cut it out, but that distorted the shape. Because polymer clay bakes at a very low temp (250 F), I baked it right in the bezel.

What are you most proud of?

I'm not sure how I like it yet, I hope it's not too busy!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you aren't happy with how the stamping turns out (it isn't perfect or it's off-center, or it is too deep on one side), just try again - recondition and re-roll the polymer clay. You can do that an infinite number of times.

I only made it yesterday, but I tried to get it out after baking because I wasn't sure I liked it, and it wouldn't budge.
