What materials did you use? The butterfly on the left was made using Bernat Crochet Cotton #5. The one on the right was made using Lizbeth thread # 10. Both were made with a Lacis shuttle.

I thought the big difference between the two butterflies made with different thread would be size but that's not the case. The difference is how much more detail can be seen in the butterfly on the right made with Lizbeth #10 thread. One question though...why is that one picot twisted and what can be done to avoid that happening in the future?
