Bucket Bag

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Bag-Making Basics: Drawstring Bag & Bucket Bag »

Instructions

Measure out the quilting design on the fabric before you stitch it so that it remains perfectly centered even after you have sewn all your seams. If you take into account all the seam measurements, your design will end up just where you want it.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Funky, Cute, Casual

Materials

Fabric, thread, fusible fleece, fusible interfacing

What was your inspiration?

The free video class on bag making and admiring everyone else's finished projects.

What are you most proud of?

The free motion quilting in a flower theme to go with the printed fabric design.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Apply the circular bottom of the bag and lining slowly and carefully, checking every few inches to make sure you don't get any tucks in the fabric. A walking foot used on the pocket and stitched rows of the handle keeps the fabric nice and smooth.

This is beautiful! The colors caught my eye first, but that quilting adds a really cute touch. I'll probably steal your idea when I make my bucket bag, hehe... Thanks for sharing :)
