What materials did you use? Quilting cotton, flannel, press stud, satin ribbon.

What are you most proud of? Translating something fairly spare in its original design into something using complex patterned fabrics. I'm not 100% convinced I got it to work, but it was certainly interesting to try, and I plan to return to this type of design in the future.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? You need to be comfortable with small curved piecing and Y-seams, which can get quite fiddly. I used flannel for the lining. This turned out to be a good base for a needle case, better than the felt I had originally been using.

Funnily enough, I still find these fabrics quite intimidating to work with too.
