What was your inspiration?

I found this is a craft magazine and knew it would be the perfect gift for my step daughter getting married next year. I just wanted something original and would be passed down as an heirloom.
My stepdaughter is very creative herself but in a different area - nail designs.

What are you most proud of?

As I am doing more of these knitted bags I am getting more comfortable with using 4 very sharp, very fine needles and my technique is getting smoother. So this time I can say that my fingers weren't cut up and it was a lot quicker and easier to knit as well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Read the instructions carefully but have fun doing it. Silk is always better to use than cotton and the crystals really add to the bag by being so sparkly. It is so much nicer using quality materials, although dearer but worth it.

OMgosh, I found a little purse at a second hand store that has an opening like this and was so amazed at it I bought it. It's beads and sequins and such, but this accordian style opening was so intriguing and I'd never seen it before. Your bag is gorgeous!
